Your Agent Won't Use the Memory You Built It

A perfect memory used twenty percent of the time is worse than a mediocre one used every time. The field is making agent memory smarter: better embeddings, sharper rerankers. I built all of that, and it barely mattered, because my agent had an excellent memory and would not open it. Adoption is not a retrieval problem and it is not solved in the model. It is solved in the harness, by taking the choice away.

Your Agent's Wiki Is Not Its Memory

The industry agreed on files this month. My agent had a decent memory made of flat wiki pages, and it still failed a live ABS deal, because a flat page looks finished. When a term was not on the page, the agent concluded it was not in the deal. A wiki tells you what it knows. It cannot tell you what it is missing. A graph can.
